AFL Appeal Board makes ruling on Bedford’s suspension

Toby Bedford’s one-game ban has been overturned by the AFL Appeal Board on Thursday.

Bedford’s hearing came two days after he and GWS were unsuccessful at the AFL Tribunal, which was heard more than a week after the initial incident.

The Giants overturned a rough conduct charge for a bump on Carlton’s Zac Fisher in their Round 24 win at Marvel stadium.

GWS argued that the the call on the high contact being ‘forceful’ was unreasonable and that no Tribunal acting reasonable could have come to the decision.

After a lengthy deliberation, the Appeal Board agreed with the club and overturned original verdict.

Bedford will be free to play in the Elimination Final against St Kilda at the MCG on Saturday.
